Nintendo E3 Bingo!!

Post by GasmaskGamer on Thu May 31, 2012 11:16 pm

All aboard the hype train. Choo choo!

Welcome one and all to an exciting installment of Nintendo E3 Bingo!!

The game plays just like regular Bingo except instead of random letters and numbers spewed out by a machine, your spaces are marked based on whether they meet their individual conditions during Nintendo's E3 conferences. You'll be able to make your own Bingo card using a wide variety of spaces, each with different conditions (listed further below).

Once the conferences are finished, whoever has the most rows completed will be declared the winner. if no one has a row completed, the winner will be whoever has the most marked spaces.

The purpose of the game is to both have fun and lampoon the ridiculous hype that surrounds E3 and the unobtainable expectations it creates. It's your job to separate the plausible from the ridiculous and come out a winner.

How It Works

At the bottom of this post is a Bingo Card legend, the template you'll need for making your own bingo card, and a list of possible spaces for you to fill your bingo card with. Use the template to post your own bingo card, filling in the labels with the url of the image you wish to put in the respective space. After you've created your bingo card, I'll copy it and place it in the second post of this thread. You may alter and resubmit your card, but no bingo cards will be accepted after June 5th, the day of Nintendo's first press conference.

Nintendo will be holding two conferences this year: an E3 Presentation June 5th at 9AM PDT and a Software Showcase at June 6th at 6PM PDT. We will start marking the bingo cards after the E3 Presentation is finished to see where everyone stands, but keep in mind that nothing is final until the Software Showcase is finished.

Rules

  • You may only have one type of each space on your Bingo card.
  • Your bingo card must be unique. No copying others.
  • No editing or resubmitting your Bingo card after June 5th. What I have on the second post come Nintendo's E3 Presentation will be your final bingo card.
  • Only what occurs during a Nintendo press conference counts for marking a bingo space. Announcements and reveals that take place at another press conference or outside of a press conference will not count.
  • You may only use the listed Bingo spaces. You may, however, suggest others for everyone to use.

Something to keep in mind when suggesting additional bingo spaces: your suggestion does not have to be likely but it must be reasonable. I will be picky about which ones I add to the list. Also, no suggesting spaces with extremely likely conditions. I have qualified and excluded several spaces because I thought they would end up as guaranteed spaces, defeating the purpose of the game. For instance, I qualified Pikmin 3 being revealed to include it being announced as a launch title. I also did not include New Super Mario Bros. 2 being shown since I thought this would be extremely likely to happen.

Though you're not required to, it would help me out a ton if you made the space yourself using this image:

Alright, that's enough gab. It's time to start makin' your bingo cards!

oh, everyone's card is different.
That's fun. I should make one. I don't even have to watch the conference, I can just check the results of the bingo.

question about HD collections.. how many collections/remasters have to be announced for the tile to count?

edit: Filling out the code is quite cumbersome, you need like 3 windows open just to do
My card: (I actually use mspaint to decide, lol)
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/246/e3bingojpg.jpg
edit: nevermind this one because I made a new card further down the page.

ended up not picking HD collections after all.

images for a possible Sonic tile

I think simply mentioning a Sonic game (excluding Sonic Sega Transformed) should count since no other Sonic titles have been announced

edit: Sonic Sega Transformed

diagonals count too right?

so i.e. the maximum amount of lines someone can win is 12
and only 4 of those lines being aligned with the center tile
and i.e. there are exactly 8 places not aligned with the center tile

just making sure.

It's less about number and more about them announcing a collection of HD Wii/GCN games. Kind of like New Play Control! or Nintendo Selects. They could announce anywhere from one to twenty, as long as it's the start of a new group of HD Wii/GCN re-releases that are given the same tagline/label/whatever.

Yup. Diagonals count and 12 possible lines, 4 of which use the Free Space in the center.

Added New Sonic Game and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transfromed to the list of available spaces.

I totally made a new card, added Sonic while I was at it.

I might properly input my card with all the forum code when I get a chance. In the meantime I do it this way.

It's fine. The press conference isn't for another 11 hours.

Also, I should note that Killer Freaks has been redesigned as ZombiU. You'll still get your Killer Freaks space marked as long as ZombiU gets it's own independent stage time.

Say is the WiiU peripheral tile is basically a gimme at this point since we already know about the WiiU pro controller? Looks like the people who picked this tile already have an edge.

Also I see you added my chart in code. Sorry I never got around to it. xD
And thanks.
